
On Tuesday 2 June 2026, the Fair Work Commission announced this year's increase to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award wages.
The increases are the outcome of the Annual Wage Review.
- The National Minimum Wage will increase by 6.0 per cent to $1004.90 per week ($26.44 per hour), based on a 38-hour week
- Minimum wage rates in Modern Awards will increase by 4.75 per cent
The increases apply from the first full pay period starting on or after 1 July 2026.
They affect the Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award 2020, Clerks - Private Sector Award 2020, Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020, and General Retail Industry Award 2020.
