Plumbing Careers in Western Australia
Introduction
In Western Australia, plumbing work — with some exceptions for minor work — can only be done by properly qualified people who have a licence issued by the Plumbers Licensing Board.
The initial qualification is the Plumbing Tradesperson’s Licence, which requires completion of a plumbing apprenticeship and a Certificate III in Plumbing course at a TAFE College
After completing additional TAFE courses, a Licensed Plumbing Tradesperson may apply for a Plumbing Contractor’s Licence, which allows them to take on additional responsibilities such as supervising tradespeople and apprentices.
Licensed Plumbing Contractors may apply to join The Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association of WA.
