In welcome news for members of The Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association of WA, the Plumbers Licensing Board has successfully prosecuted a Perth man for submitting false information when applying for a plumbing contractor's licence.
A Building and Energy media release on Thursday 22 October said the man had "failed to disclose pending criminal charges and submitted an altered criminal history check certificate" in his licence application.
His dishonesty is an offence under the Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Regulations 2000. He was fined $750 in Perth Magistrates Court after pleading guilty on Friday 25 September.
The Plumbers Licensing Board acted because it is committed to ensuring that only fit and proper applicants receive plumbing contractor's licences.
