How we engage with State Government via the Western Australian BCC Committee

Industry news

In addition to organising events and providing various forms of support to our members, another of this Association's important roles is to engage with the WA State Government.

One way we do this through our membership of the Western Australian Building and Construction Consultative (BCC) Committee, which was established in June 2022 and reports to the Minister for Industrial Relations.

The BCC Committee is a forum for employers, industry associations and unions to provide advice to the State Government about significant commercial construction sector issues such as training, licensing and challenges facing the sector.

Our CEO Murray Thomas represents us on the BCC Committee and speaks on behalf of members.

In fact, all licensed plumbers and gasfitters in WA, including non-members as well as members, benefit from Murray's input into BCC Committee discussions.

For full information about the BCC Committee including its Terms of Reference, committee members and meeting outcomes, see Western Australian Building and Construction Consultative Committee.
