In a media release advising consumers about finding reliable tradespeople, WA's Commissioner for Consumer Protection has recommended checking if plumbers are Master Plumbers members.

This is because membership of Master Plumbers means a plumber belongs to their industry association and has agreed to a code of conduct.

Every member can take pride in this endorsement, which the Commissioner has made after giving serious consideration to everything this Association represents.

The media release, which was published on Friday 31 October, contains other valuable advice for consumers, such as checking whether tradespeople are licensed, getting multiple written quotes, and what to do when things go wrong.
