Stage 1 of WA's new security of payment laws is here

The laws started on Monday 1 August and apply to construction contracts signed on or after that date. To help you learn about them, here's an update on educational resources and a coming roadshow.

Our Security of Payment Member Guide

If you are are a member of the Association, you can obtain this useful Guide by logging into the members-only area and selecting 'Security of Payment Law' under Members' resources (on the left-hand side of the page).

Educational materials from the WA Government

The Building and Energy Division of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) has published the following resources for subcontractors, head contractors, builders and suppliers.

• Online training session
• Videos, fact sheets, templates and user guides for how to use the Act
• Information on authorised nominating authorities
• Information on adjudicators and review adjudicators

Security of Payment Roadshow 

Building and Energy will be running free information sessions in regional locations in WA from September to November 2022.
