A Plumbers Technical Note from Building and Energy has confirmed the new Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) will come into effect in WA on 1 May 2023.
It will replace PCA 2019.
Because only water supply, sanitary and drainage plumbing work are regulated in WA, the relevant parts of the PCA are
- Section A
- Parts B1, B2, B3, B4 and B5
- Parts C1 and C2
- Specification 4

The PCA is Volume Three of the National Construction Code and available free of charge from the Australian Building Codes Board.
