We have issued a media release supporting the decision by the Australian Building Codes Board to introduce a limit of 0.25 per cent on the amount of lead allowed in plumbing products.
The reduced limit will be specified in the new version of the National Construction Code that will come into effect in September 2022. There will be a three-year transition period. The decision represents a victory for us because achieving the 0.25% limit is one of our policy objectives.
