National Cabinet's Permissions and Restrictions for Essential Workers – Interim Guidance was released on 7 February. This is important for Association members because many building and construction workers, including plumbers, are defined as essential workers.
The Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association of WA was represented in a national industry forum that provided input into the document.
The document provides a process to support safe decision making when determining what work permissions or restrictions should apply to a worker after a COVID-19 exposure.
Although the guidance applies nationally, each state and territory government is responsible for implementing it. This means the timing of the implementation may differ between jurisdictions.
