Important statewide announcement about apprentice training and employment

Association news

This Association has entered into a ground-breaking agreement with the Apprentice and Traineeship Company (ATC) that will deliver benefits to members and their apprentices.

The Apprentice and Traineeship Company (ATC) is an industry-driven Group Training Organisation, Registered Training Organisation and labour hire company that focuses on delivering superior apprentice training.

Our agreement, which has the potential to transform the experience our members have with apprentice training and employment, applies to all metropolitan and and regional locations in Western Australia.

Reduced apprentice employment costs for members

Under the terms of the agreement, ATC will give Association members a five per cent discount on the cost of employing apprentices. This discount will commence from 1 February 2023 and apply to all apprentice employment charges including those covered by existing contracts.

There are further savings because ATC takes care of all the paperwork and time associated with recruitment, payroll administration, superannuation, taxation and workers’ compensation claims.

ATC send a weekly invoice that covers everything. They do not charge for unproductive time such as sick leave, public holidays or annual leave.

Improved apprentice training outcomes

ATC mentors their apprentices to help them navigate the complex transition from school to paid employment.

They also ensure their apprentices receive a complete range of practical work experience so they can become genuinely competent tradespeople.

ATC will have regular meetings with the Association to review training requirements and hear feedback from members.
