Financial support for apprentices and trainees

Training and education

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) will offer financial support to apprentices and trainees through the Apprentice Tool Allowance.

The $4.5 million program will launch on 1 July 2022 for one year. It will provide eligible apprentices and trainees with a $500 rebate for the purchase of tools or safety equipment they require for their work.

How the Apprentice Tool Allowance will help the industry

  • Provide financial support for apprentices’ and trainees’ on-the-job activities
  • Promote safety and help update safety equipment
  • Help retain apprentices and trainees in employment for workforce sustainability

More than 9,000 apprentices and trainees working in construction in WA will benefit from the Apprentice Tool Allowance program.
