Waterwise housing in WA reaches major milestone

Industry news

As supporters of Waterwise plumbing, we were excited to hear that 1000 WA public housing properties have been made more water efficient through a Government partnership that is helping to save water and reduce tenants' bills.

The WA Government's Waterwise Housing Project, a partnership between Water Corporation and the Department of Communities, aims to give 10,000 home a Waterwise upgrade.

The updgrade includes replacing fixtures such as shower heads as well as checking for water leaks inside and outside the home. A single leaking tap can waste up to 10,000 litres of water per year, while a constant trickle in a toilet bowl can waste 9,000 litres per year.
