REMINDER AS NZS5601 2013 gasinstallations must now comply with Australian Standard

AS/NZS 5601:2013.

The 2013 edition of AS/NZS 5601 was published on the 16 September 2013  and automatically adopted for gasfitting in in Western Australia.  You will be aware that there is a six month period where the superseded edition (AS/NZS 5601:2010) is deemed to comply with the new edition (AS/NZS 5601:2013) and during this period gas installations can comply with either edition.  Sunday 16 March 2014 was the end of this period, as of last Monday (17/03/2014) gas installations must comply with AS/NZS 5601:2013.

Gas Standards (Gasfitting and Consumer Gas Installations) Regulations 1999 Amendments

EnergySafety is proposing to amend the requirements of the  Gas Standards (Gasfitting and Consumer Gas Installations) Regulations 1999.  To allow gasfitters and others to make comment on the proposed changes EnergySafety have produced a discussion paper outlining the proposal.  The period for comment closes on the 31 March 2014.
