The $10 million water park at Elizabeth Quay has been plagued with bacteria control problems since opening in January.

The park remains closed after a series of problems with bacteria as the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority tries to solve problems with water quality.

The State Government has been accused of turning its back on local workers. It was revealed the major plumbing contract for the water park job was outsourced to a Queensland company.

Master Plumbers & Gasfitters Association of WA's CEO Murray Thomas commented on 6PR radio on Friday 4 March 2016 on how important it is to use a licensed plumber.
